Meet Dr. Wayland
Dr. John Wayland, founder of Bay Area IV Wisdom and former founder of Western Surgical and Sedation, is an esteemed expert in IV sedation. Trained by renowned anesthesia specialist Dr. Stanley Malamed in 1982, Dr. Wayland obtained his IV sedation certification in 1983, with Dr. Malamed, author of the acclaimed book “SEDATION: A Guide to Patient Management,” guiding his training.
With over 42 years of experience as a Dental Board of California office sedation evaluator, Dr. Wayland has expertly administered IV sedation to thousands of patients. Patients under his care often describe experiencing minimal to no recollection of the procedure. Dr. Wayland has been teaching IV sedation techniques since 2011, sharing his wealth of knowledge and expertise with fellow professionals.
